  1. Given reaction

N2O5(g)→2 NO2(g)+12 O2(g)\mathrm{N_2O_5(g)} \rightarrow 2\,\mathrm{NO_2(g)} + \frac{1}{2}\,\mathrm{O_2(g)}N2​O5​(g)→2NO2​(g)+21​O2​(g)

The container has constant volume and we assume temperature is unchanged, so for gases:

P∝nP \propto nP∝n

That means pressure is directly proportional to total moles of gas.


  1. Assume initial moles

Let initial moles of N2O5\mathrm{N_2O_5}N2​O5​ be 111 mol.

Initially:

  • N2O5=1\mathrm{N_2O_5} = 1N2​O5​=1
  • NO2=0\mathrm{NO_2} = 0NO2​=0
  • O2=0\mathrm{O_2} = 0O2​=0

So initial total moles:
