    (v) CCl4CCl_4CCl4​

    • Shape: tetrahedral
    • Four C−ClC-ClC−Cl bonds are polar, but arranged symmetrically.
    • Dipoles cancel.
    • Net dipole moment =0=0=0

    (vi) HClHClHCl

    • Diatomic molecule
    • H−ClH-ClH−Cl bond is polar.
    • In a diatomic molecule, net dipole is just the bond dipole.
    • Net dipole moment ≠0\neq 0=0
  3. Molecules with non-zero dipole moment are: H2O, NH3, HClH_2O,\ NH_3,\ HClH2​O, NH3​, HCl
