Correct answer: A

  1. Write the structure from the IUPAC name

    The parent chain is hex-1-en-4-yne:

    • 6 carbon chain
    • double bond between C1 and C2
    • triple bond between C4 and C5
    • at C3, there are two methyl groups

    So the structure is:

    CH2=CH−C(CH3)2−C≡C−CH3\mathrm{CH_2=CH-C(CH_3)_2-C\equiv C-CH_3}CH2=CH−C(CH3)2−C≡C−CH3

  2. Now count the hybridisation of each carbon

    Let us label all carbons:

    • C1: CH2\mathrm{CH_2}CH2 in C=C\mathrm{C=C}C=C ⇒sp2\Rightarrow \mathrm{sp^2}⇒sp2
    • C2: CH\mathrm{CH}CH in C=C\mathrm{C=C}C=C ⇒sp2\Rightarrow \mathrm{sp^2}⇒sp2
    • C3: central carbon attached by four single bonds ⇒sp3\Rightarrow \mathrm{sp^3}⇒sp3
    • C4: carbon in C≡C\mathrm{C\equiv C}C≡C ⇒sp\Rightarrow \mathrm{sp}⇒sp
    • C5: carbon in C≡C\mathrm{C\equiv C}C≡C ⇒sp\Rightarrow \mathrm{sp}⇒sp
    • C6: terminal CH3\mathrm{CH_3}CH3 attached by single bond ⇒sp3\Rightarrow \mathrm{sp^3}⇒sp3
    • Two methyl substituent carbons on C3: each has four single bonds ⇒sp3,sp3\Rightarrow \mathrm{sp^3, sp^3}⇒sp3,sp3
  3. Total count

    • sp3\mathrm{sp^3}sp3 carbons: C3, C6, and two methyl carbons =4=4=4
    • sp2\mathrm{sp^2}sp2 carbons: C1, C2 =2=2=2
    • sp\mathrm{sp}sp carbons: C4, C5 =2=2=2
  4. Match with options

    4,2,2\boxed{4,2,2}4,2,2

Hence, the correct option is A.
