NEETPhysicsMotion in A Straight LineMCQ+4 / −1
A stone falls freely under gravity. It covers distances h1, h2 and h3 in the first 5 seconds, the next 5 seconds and the next 5 seconds respectively. The relation between h1, h2 and h3 is
- Ah2 = 3h1 and h3 = 3h2
- Bh1 = h2 = h3
- Ch1 = 2h2 = 3h3
- D= =

Correct answer: D

Here h = ${1 \over 2}g{t^2}$
$ \therefore $ h1 = $${1 \over 2}g{\left( 5 \right)^2}$$ = 125
h1 + h2 = $${1 \over 2}g{\left( 10 \right)^2}$$ = 500
$ \Rightarrow $ h2 = 375
h1 + h2 + h3 = $${1 \over 2}g{\left( 15 \right)^2}$$ = 1125
$ \Rightarrow $ h3 = 625
$ \therefore $ h2 = 3h1 and h3 = 5h1
or ${h_1}$ = ${{{h_2}} \over 3}$ = ${{{h_3}} \over 5}$
