Given x = 8 + 12t −-− t3

Velocity, v = dxdt{{dx} \over {dt}}dtdx​ = 12 - 3t2

When v = 0, then 12 - 3t2 = 0

⇒\Rightarrow⇒ t = 2 s

a=dvdta = {{dv} \over {dt}}a=dtdv​ = - 6t

∴\therefore∴ At t = 2 s, aaa = - 12 m/s2

∴\therefore∴ Retardation = 12 m/s2
