  1. Use freezing point depression relation

    The depression in freezing point is given by ΔTf=iKfm\Delta T_f = iK_f mΔTf​=iKf​m where:

    • iii = van’t Hoff factor
    • KfK_fKf​ = cryoscopic constant of water
    • mmm = molality

    Since all given solutions are dilute aqueous solutions of the same concentration (0.06 M0.06\,M0.06M), the one with the largest iii will produce the largest depression in freezing point, hence the lowest freezing point.

  2. Find van’t Hoff factor for each solute

  3. Compare freezing point depression
