NEET rank questions

What rank will I get at 600 marks in NEET?

In the 2026 re-exam, 601 to 650 marks produced All India Rank 1,391 to 9,815. In 2025, 601 to 608 marks produced rank 846 to 1,302, because the paper was harder and the top score was only 686. The same marks can differ by thousands of ranks between years.

How many marks are needed for a government MBBS seat?

There is no single number. It depends on your category, your state quota, and the counselling round. As a rough guide, All India Quota government MBBS seats have recently closed in the top 15,000 to 20,000 ranks in the general category, which in 2026 meant roughly 580 marks and above. State quota cutoffs vary widely.

Why is NEET marks vs rank different every year?

Three things move it: how hard the paper was, how many candidates appeared, and where the top of the scale sits. 2024 had 17 candidates on a perfect 720; 2025 topped out at 686. When the paper is easier the scores bunch up, so a few marks can cost you thousands of ranks.

Is NEET rank the same as the qualifying cutoff?

No. The qualifying cutoff is the percentile you must clear to be eligible for counselling at all, which for the general category has recently landed around the 50th percentile. Your All India Rank is your position among everyone who appeared, and it is what actually decides which college you can get.

Which year should I compare my score against?

Compare against the most recent year with a similar paper difficulty, and look at two or three years rather than one. The tables here cover 2023 to 2026 so you can see the spread rather than trusting a single year.
