  1. For an electron revolving in a hydrogen atom, the electrostatic force provides the centripetal force:

mv2r=14πε0e2r2\frac{m v^2}{r} = \frac{1}{4\pi\varepsilon_0}\frac{e^2}{r^2}rmv2​=4πε0​1​r2e2​

  1. Rearranging:

mv2=14πε0e2rm v^2 = \frac{1}{4\pi\varepsilon_0}\frac{e^2}{r}mv2=4πε0​1​re2​

So,

v2∝1rv^2 \propto \frac{1}{r}v2∝r1​

Hence,

v∝1rv \propto \frac{1}{\sqrt{r}}v∝r​1​

  1. The angular momentum of the electron is

L=mvrL = mvrL=mvr

Since mmm is constant,

L∝vrL \propto vrL∝vr
