Correct answer: B

  1. For an astronomical telescope in normal adjustment:

    • Length of tube: L=fo+feL = f_o + f_eL=fo+fe
    • Magnifying power: M=fofeM = \frac{f_o}{f_e}M=fefo

where fof_ofo is the focal length of objective and fef_efe is the focal length of eyepiece.

  2. Given: L=60 cm,M=5L = 60\text{ cm}, \quad M = 5L=60 cm,M=5

    So, fofe=5⇒fo=5fe\frac{f_o}{f_e} = 5 \Rightarrow f_o = 5f_efefo=5⇒fo=5fe

  3. Substitute into tube length equation: fo+fe=60f_o + f_e = 60fo+fe=60 5fe+fe=605f_e + f_e = 605fe+fe=60 6fe=606f_e = 606fe=60 fe=10 cmf_e = 10\text{ cm}fe=10 cm

  4. Hence, the focal length of the eyepiece is 10 cm\boxed{10\text{ cm}}10 cm

  5. Checking options:

    • A: 404040 cm →\to→ incorrect
    • B: 101010 cm →\to→ correct
    • C: 303030 cm →\to→ incorrect
    • D: 202020 cm →\to→ incorrect

Therefore, the correct option is B.
